Fullerton Fest: 3/23 & 24

The Fullerton College Theatre Festival is this March 23 & 24 at Fullerton Community College.  This is an exciting opportunity for your student to work on their craft, receive feedback from professors and professionals, and interact with other theatre students from all around the region.

Students and parents are welcome to attend and observe and support our student participants.  We need help with TRANSPORTATION and SUPERVISON for the two days of the festival.  If your student is a participant or an observer, we need you to cover AT LEAST ONE of the transportation or supervision shifts.

Sign ups for these slots are online through the link above .  Please sign up ASAP so we are not scrambling for coverage on the day of the event.

The fee for each individual participant is $35.  The Drama Mamas and Papas pay the school participation fee of $150.  The boosters are willing to assist students in need with the individual fee.  Please email us at for more information.

Spring Awakening tickets - $10

The Fullerton College Theatre Department will present a special performance of their musical Spring Awakening on Saturday, March 24 @ 8 pm.  Their productions are extremely high caliber year after year and a valuable experience for our students who have attended.

Fees can be paid by check, payable to Drama Mamas & Papas, or by credit card through our online Square Store, linked above.

Transportation & Supervision

We expect 10 - 15 students to participate this year, and there are 5 separate caravan events to get these students to and from the festival.  Every parent is expected to drive students for at least one of these carpool caravans to ensure that the responsibility is shared evenly.

We also need 1 – 2 adults present at our camp site at any given time while students are in their performance rooms or attending workshops.  Your assistance is needed in directing students and setting up or packing up.  These will be divided in to reasonable-length shifts.

Students should bring their own money or packed lunch.  The festival administration requests that students do not leave campus throughout the day.  The campus food court will be open, but lines are very long at peak times.

Theatre Festivals

Role-About Festival

Role About is an annual festival held for schools in southern orange county. There are a large variety of categories ranging from scenes and monologues to musical theatre. Many styles are also available such as comedic or dramatic and classical or contemporary. In the past we have had multiple student groups make finals, place, and even get first and take home trophies for our department. During the day when performances are not going on all the students gather and play theatre games. It's a fun day and a great learning experience.

Fullerton College Festival

The Fullerton College festival is a two-day event held at Fullerton Junior College. This is one of the most beneficial events to particpate in because students and judges gather from all over the state to perform at the festival.Student volunteers from the college also help run the festival so high schoolers will get to meet people who followed the path they are considering. On the second day there is a variety of classes and tours offered on various topics relating to theatre that are fantastic learning experience for teachers and studnets alike. This festival also is unique in that it features competitions for technical designs as well as acting.
